Sam Querrey’s dream of bagging the 1M$ bonus was ended by Pablo Cuevas and Horacio Zeballos in the quarterfinal on Thursday. At the start of this year’s event, it was announced that Indian Wells Masters will award any player who combines singles and doubles success at the 2018 event a bonus of $1 million.

Marcos Baghdatis pulled out of the fourth round contest (illness), giving Milos Raonic a free ride into the quarterfinal. The Canadian really needed a good run this week as he was in a terrible run of form since coming back from the injury.
This will be Milos Raonic’s first quarterfinal appearance on tour since Washington 2017, where he lost to Jack Sock (USA) in straight sets. The former World #3 entered three tournaments and made at least the quarterfinal in all three during the opening two months of the 2017 season, but he couldn’t win more than one match in any of the three tournaments he entered during the first two months of the 2018 season.
Milos Raonic has done exceptionally well in his recent three visits here at the Indian Wells. The big-serving Canadian progressed to the final in 2016, semifinal in 2015 and quarterfinal in 2014.
