The Indian Wells run, combined with the $60,000 ITF title at Sacramento last year and the semifinal at the Oracle Challenger this month, pushed the 16-year-old to a new career high-rank of #130.
Anisimova made headlines last year when she became the youngest player to participate in the main draw of the French Open since Alize Cornet (2005).

Qiang Wang secured three excellent wins at the Indian Wells last week, by defeating two former Top 10 players (Bacsinszky and Mladenovic) and the Australian Open semifinalist, Elise Mertens.
This run was preceded by a round of 16 appearance at Dubai (as a lucky loser), where she took a set off the defending and eventual champion, Elina Svitolina.
