The Chilean entered three clay tournaments in February 2018 and enjoyed massive success by progressing to the (maiden) quarterfinal at Quito, (maiden) semifinal at Rio de Janeiro and (maiden) final at Sao Paulo.
Jarry is yet to play a match since losing the crucial fourth rubber against Diego Schwartzman during the Davis Cup weekend earlier this month. This is also his first appearance in this event.
