So far he has failed to justify the wildcard selection as he could not progress beyond the third round of French Open in his previous 18 appearances. In fact, reaching the round of 16 once in Wimbledon is his career-best result in a grand slam.
Nicolas Mahut is currently on a three-match losing run and will be looking to avoid his second consecutive first-round exit in Paris when he takes on Juan Martin Del Potro this Tuesday (lost to Simone Bolelli in the first round of 2017 edition).
