Marco Cecchinato vs John Millman Tennis Prediction

The fourth seed Marco Cecchinato, playing his first match on grass this season, recovered from a set deficit against Denis Istomin to the reach the quarterfinal of ATP Eastbourne on his debut appearance, 4-6 6-4 7-5.
The win against Denis Istomin was the Italian’s first-ever win on grass in his entire career. His only previous match on this surface ended in a straight-set defeat against Kei Nishikori in Wimbledon 2017.
Nevertheless, the world #31 Marco Cecchinato is enjoying his career-best season in 2018, having won his maiden tour title at Budapest and posted his career-best grand slam result at the recently concluded French Open (SF). Additionally, he won the title at Santiago Challenger and made the semifinal at Alicante Challenger and Marbella Challenger.
The 25-year-old Marco Cecchinato has played four quarterfinal matches this season (at all levels) and managed to win all four, with the recent such win coming against the former world #1 Novak Djokovic in the French Open. He will now be hoping to keep the run going with a win over John Millman on Thursday.
John Millman, who fought back from a set down to upset Gilles Muller in the first round, needed two tiebreakers to knock out a dangerous looking Leonardo Mayer in the round of 16, 7-6 7-6. This is the experienced Australian’s best result in Eastbourne as his only previous appearance ended in the qualifying stages of 2012 edition.
Like Marco Cecchinato, John Millman is enjoying his career-best season in 2018, having finished as the runner-up at Budapest and won his first title on clay, at Aix en Provence Challenger.
On Thursday, John Millman will make his first quarterfinal appearance on grass (at any level) since winning the title at ITF Australia F2 in 2010, where he defeated compatriot Colin Ebelthite in the quarterfinal.
Marco Cecchinato leads the H2H 3-0 (all on clay), including winning the title-deciding match at Budapest earlier this season (first tour-level final for both). However, playing on grass gives John Millman an excellent chance to exact the revenge as he is by far the better player in these conditions.
