Denis Kudla vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Tennis Prediction

Denis Kudla got a favorable first round draw (inconsistent opponent), and he made the good use of it by scoring a dominant straight-set win over Lukas Lacko, 6-4 6-4. It was the American’s third straight set win of the week having previously beaten Guido Pella and Nikoloz Basilashvili in the qualifying stages.
Denis Kudla must be relieved after securing the main draw win as he recently made it to the main draw of ATP Stuttgart and French Open through the qualifying stages only to lose his first-round match in the main draw. This is also his first-ever main draw win in Halle having previously lost his only such match to Sergiy Stakhovsky in 2016.
Former world #53 Denis Kudla is one of the very few players to have registered over 30 wins in the first six months of the season (33/16), thanks to his fine results in the Challenger circuits, such as winning the title in Drummondville Challenger, finishing as the runner-up at Le Gosier Challenger, a semifinal appearance at Dallas Challenger and a quarterfinal appearance at Surbiton Challenger (grass).
Though Denis Kudla has made a handful of quarterfinal appearances in grass Challenger events (including one at Surbiton two weeks back), the last time he made the quarterfinal of a grass tour-level event was back in 2013, at ATP London.
Stefanos Tsitsipas knocked out the error-prone Lucas Pouille in straight sets to advance into the second round of ATP Halle on his debut appearance, 6-2 7-6.
Former Junior Wimbledon doubles champion, Stefanos Tsitsipas, made his first-ever quarterfinal appearance on the grass at ATP Hertogenbosch last week. He will be hoping to continue the run by making yet another quarterfinal appearance at Halle this week.
The quarterfinal appearance at Hertogenbosch last week was one of the many personal milestones the Greek teenager has achieved so far in 2018. Earlier this season, he posted his career-best results by reaching the quarterfinal at Doha, and Dubai, semifinal at Estoril and finals at Barcelona.
In pair’s first ever meeting, terrific form over the last few months makes Stefanos Tsitsipas the favorite but Denis Kudla, on a good day, is equally capable of winning this second round contest.
