Dudi Sela vs Rafael Nadal Tennis Prediction

The two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal will kickstart his 13th Wimbledon campaign on Tuesday against the world #127 Dudi Sela, who is struggling to win matches at the moment. However, there are no easy matches for the world #1 Nadal in Wimbledon as he suffered some shock defeats here in the recent years, such as against Lukas Rosol in 2012, Steve Darcis in 2013, Dustin Brown in 2015 and Gilles Muller in 2017.
After winning the French Open title, Rafael Nadal took a break and returned to action at the Hurlingham exhibition event last week where he defeated Matthew Ebden 7-6 7-5 before losing to Lucas Pouille in exactly the same scoreline, 6-7 5-7.
A defeat against Dudi Sela could keep Rafael Nadal winless on grass this season, assuming he doesn’t enter ATP Newport. The last and only time he played on grass but finished the grass season with 0 wins was back in 2013 (0/1), when he was knocked in the first round of Wimbledon by Steve Darcis.
Dudi Sela is currently on a three-match losing run, including his defeat against Elias Ymer in the first round of the French Open. He also lost his first round match at the Australian open to Ryan Harrison in five sets.
The former world #29 Dudi Sela, who had a prolific grass season in 2017 by winning nine matches from the possible 11 (9/2), is yet to play a match on grass this season.
Dudi Sela’s most recent first-round defeat in Wimbledon came against a Spanish opponent, David Ferrer, in 2016. He defeated another Spaniard in the first round of 2017 edition (Marcel Granollers Pujol) and went onto reach the third round.
They have met twice in the past with Rafael Nadal winning both the matches in straight sets. On any other surface, Dudi Sela doesn’t stand a chance against Rafael Nadal on current form, but on grass, he has got the ability to make it a close contest, only if he plays to the best of his ability.

Tennis Picks: Rafael Nadal 3-0 SET
