Fernando Verdasco vs Pablo Cuevas Tennis Prediction

Big match for today at ATP – SINGLES: Monte Carlo (Monaco), clay. Bet on our tennis prediction 70%.
All their previous four meetings (on tour) have come on the clay courts with their H2H tied at 2-2. Both Verdasco and Cuevas has got the ability to win this match but considering their nature (hot and cold), this first round encounter could be a coin flip.

Fernando Verdasco News

Fernando Verdasco suffered his third first-round defeat of the season when he lost to Denis Kudla in Houston last week (4-6 6-7). The Spaniard was putting together some good performances in the recent weeks (runner-up at Rio, R3 in Indian Wells and R16 in Miami) until that setback at ATP Houston.
Verdasco made 11 consecutive appearances at Monte Carlo during the period between 2005-2016 but could not compete here in 2017. Though he finished as the runner-up once in 2010 and has defeated the likes of Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer and Tomas Berdych in this tournament, first round exits have been his most frequent result in Monte Carlo Masters (6).
In his previous 11 appearances at Monte Carlo, Fernando Verdasco has faced only two South American opponents, defeated Federico Delbonis in the first round in 2016 but lost to Fernando Gonzalez in the first round of 2005 edition.

Pablo Cuevas News

Monte Carlo will be Pablo Cuevas’ fourth clay tournament of the season, and he managed to progressively improve his result in the previous three clay events, at Buenos Aires (R1), Rio de Janeiro (QF) and Sao Paulo (SF).
Cuevas maintained his perfect Davis Cup record in 2018 (4/0) by defeating David Souto and Ricardo Rodriguez Pace in the Group Two tie on the clay courts of Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club, Montevideo (Uruguay) earlier this month.
Fernando Verdasco has won over 200 matches (263/151) on clay in his career, but it’s still not as good as Cuevas’ numbers on clay (437/213). The Uruguayan won 19 matches on this surface last season (19/11) including two titles at Sao Paulo and Montevideo Challenger.
The former World #19 defeated Stan Wawrinka and progressed to the quarterfinal here in 2017, which is also his best result in this tournament (three appearances).

Tennis Prediction: Fernando Verdasco to win
