Garbine Muguruza vs Lesia Tsurenko Tennis Prediction

Garbine Muguruza sails into the fourth round by thumping Samantha Stosur, 6-0 6-2, in an hour and two minutes. It was the shortest match of her fortnight so far, which included a two-hour clash against another slam champion Kuznetsova (7-6 6-2).
The 2016 French Open champion did not have a great clay season coming into this tournament. After a third-round exit at Madrid to Kasatkina, she was upset by Gavrilova at Rome, where she led the first round match by a set and then the decider by 4-0 (5-7 6-4 7-6).
The former #1 heads into this match with a 13-0 record against outside top 30 players at the French Open main draw. The Spaniard has a decent 6-4 record in slam fourth-round matches, having lost at this stage in 2017 on her title defense campaign to Mladenovic.
Lesia Tsurenko is into her first French Open slam fourth round, defeating 19th seed Magdalena Rybarikova in straight sets, 6-2 6-4. In fact, the Ukrainian won the first set winning all first serve points (14/14) and holding her serves without being dragged to deuce.
Tsurenko started the campaign with two down-from-a-set wins over Stefanie Voegele and 15th seed Coco Vandeweghe. In her only previous slam fourth round run (2016 US Open), she had also defeated two seeded players en route (Begu and Cibulkova, l. Vinci).
The world #39 arrived at Paris after losing in the first rounds of her two warm-up tournaments, Madrid and Rome. It was only last year that Tsurenko won her first main draw match at the French Open, having debuted in 2010 (l. Ostapenko in the third round).
The pair has met each other twice, with Tsurenko winning the 2015 Toronto encounter (7-5 6-1) while Muguruza returning the favor at 2017 Wuhan (6-4 6-4). The Spaniard is a clear favorite in this match-up, as Tsurenko seeks her first top 10 win since October 2015.

Tennis Prediction: Garbine Muguruza 2-0 SET
