David Goffin vs Bautista Tennis Prediction

Agut leads the H2H 3-2 (0-1 on clay), but Goffin won their recent two meetings, in Sofia 2017 and Monte Carlo 2018. As their H2H suggests, Agut is equally capable of winning this matchup, and the current form of David Goffin enhances the Spaniard’s chances further.

David Goffin News

For the second time in two matches, David Goffin lost the first set, won the second set in the tiebreaker and won the third set comfortably when he defeated Karen Khachanov in the round of 16. Earlier this week, he defeated Marcel Granollers Pujol in the similar fashion (even fought back from a set and double break down).
Playing his first clay event of the season at Monte Carlo last week, David Goffin won two matches before losing to Grigor Dimitrov in the quarterfinal, 4-6 5-7.
Though the Belgian has made the quarterfinals at two consecutive tour events, he is yet to bring out his best tennis since suffering an eye injury at Rotterdam in February.
David Goffin’s recent four quarterfinal matches in a tour-level clay event have ended in defeats, against Grigor Dimitrov in Monte Carlo 2018, Robin Haase in Gstaad 2017, Ivan Dodig in Umag 2017, and Rafael Nadal in Madrid Masters 2017.

Roberto Bautista Agut News

After fighting back from a set down against Ivo Karlovic in the first round, Roberto Bautista Agut scored a comfortable straight set win over the lucky loser Pablo Andujar in the round of 16, 6-4 6-1.
The Spaniard won two matches at Monte Carlo last week before losing to David Goffin the round of 16, and he will be hoping for a different result when he takes on the Belgian for the second time in the space of seven days.
While Goffin will be playing his first quarterfinal in Barcelona, Roberto Bautista Agut made the quarterfinal here once in 2015 but lost to Kei Nishikori in three sets.
Agut made two quarterfinal appearances earlier in the season (Auckland and Dubai) and went on to win the title in both the tournaments.
