The German suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the fifth and deciding rubber against Spain (vs. David Ferrer) in the Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal on Sunday. The match lasted nearly five hours, and the visitors (Germany) were leading the tie 2-1 at the end of Saturday’s play.

Ouahab has won 630 matches so far in his career (630/293), with more than 500 of them coming on the clay courts (the majority of them in clay ITF’s).
The 33-year-old Moroccan is one of the most successful players on the ITF Pro Circuits, and no player has won more titles on the ITF Pro Circuits than Lamine Ouahab himself (29), followed by Riccardo Bellotti and Attila Balazs (28 each).
Apart from 29 ITF titles, he has also won three Challenger titles. Overall, 31 of his 32 career titles have come on the clay court events.
