Kyle Edmund vs Alex De Minaur Tennis Prediction

At this stage of their career, Kyle Edmund is the better player, and he has got the power to overcome Alex De Minaur in their first-ever meeting. But the Brit’s recent poor form should give some belief to the teenager going into this contest.

Alex De Minaur News

Making his Estoril debut, Alex De Minaur looked ever so comfortable against the Portuguese opponent, Gastao Elias, in the first round, 6-3 6-1.
It was his first win in three matches as he lost his previous two on clay against Alexey Vatutin in Marrakech (Q-QF) and Andreas Seppi in the Monte Carlo Masters (QR1).
Partnering with his mentor Lleyton Hewitt, Alex De Minaur progressed to the quarterfinal in the doubles draw after beating the experienced pair, Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus, in straight sets, 6-4 6-4.
The last time Alex De Minaur progressed to the quarterfinal of a tour-level event was at ATP Sydney in the second week of January 2018. Too many matches played in December 2017, and January 2018 took its toll on the Australian teenager as his performance took a hit in the following weeks.
However, Alex De Minaur defeated the likes of Ricardo Ojeda Lara, Marcel Granollers Pujol, and Roberto Carballes Baena to reach the final of Alicante Challenger (clay) last month, where he lost to the resurgent Pablo Andujar in straight sets.

Kyle Edmund News

After failing at ATP Estoril in 2016 (R16) and 2017 (R1), Kyle Edmund returns to the event as the #3 seed, and he will be hoping to post a better result this time around (got the first-round bye).
Like Alex De Minaur, Kyle Edmund made an impressive start to the season by reaching the quarterfinal at Brisbane and semifinal at the Australian Open. But the injuries he suffered at Brisbane and Melbourne impacted his performance in the recent weeks.
Since the Australian Open, Kyle Edmund has entered four tournaments and failed to win the opening round match in three of them (finished as the runner-up at Marrakech).
