Kyle Edmund vs Novak Djokovic Tennis Prediction

Novak Djokovic leads the H2H 3-0 (all on the hard courts), but the H2H has very little relevance now as the Serbian is far from his best at the moment. Moreover, Kyle Edmund has got the power to excel in these conditions as he shown against Rafael Nadal in Monte Carlo 2017 (0-6 7-5 3-6).

Novak Djokovic News

Novak Djokovic made a slow start to his first round match against Kei Nishikori but recovered well in time to secure a confidence-boosting straight sets win, 7-5 6-4.
The win against Nishikori was the former world #1’s best win and performance since returning from the injury break (right elbow). It was also a much-needed win for him considering his confidence took a huge hit after losing to the likes of Benoit Paire, Taro Daniel and Martin Klizan in the recent weeks.
This is only the second time the Serbian did not get a first-round bye in the Madrid Masters (previously in 2005, making his debut). He has done well here in the past by winning the title twice, reaching the semifinal thrice and quarterfinal twice.

Kyle Edmund News

Kyle Edmund produced a dominant performance to knock out the talented Russian Daniil Medvedev in straight sets on Monday, 6-4 6-0.
The final set of Edmund’s recent two matches have finished at 6-0. He was at the receiving end of a bagel against Joao Sousa in Estoril last week.
The British #1 posted his best result in a tour-level clay tournament when he finished as the runner-up at Marrakech a few weeks back. It was also the closest he has ever come to winning a tour title (lost to Pablo Andujar).
This is already a good result for Kyle Edmund considering he could not win a match in the season’s previous three Masters 1000 events, at Monte Carlo, Miami, and Indian Wells.

Tennis Prediction: Novak Djokovic 2-0 SET
