Jaume Munar Clar vs David Ferrer Tennis Prediction

David Ferrer has been one of the most consistent players on clay over the past decade or so, but on current form, Jaume Munar Clar does have a decent chance of scoring his first-ever main draw win at this level (grand slam).

Jaume Munar Clar News

Jaume Munar Clar recovered from a set down and a break deficit in the deciding set (4-5* 0-30*) of his final qualifying match against Duck Hee Lee to progress into the main draw of French Open on his debut appearance, 6-7 6-0 7-6.
Earlier this week, the young Spaniard scored dominant wins over Tim Smyczek and Felix Auger Aliassime in QR1 and QR2, respectively. He won three qualifying matches and progressed to the main draw of Australian Open earlier this season but failed to Gael Monfils in the first round.
The 20-year-old Spaniard, who won 62 matches in 2016 and 43 matches in 2017, has won eight singles titles so far in his career (7 ITF and 1 Challenger).
Since becoming the father earlier this month, David Ferrer has played just two matches but lost both of them in straight sets, against the struggling Jack Sock in Rome (R1) and Peter Gojowczyk in Geneva (R16).

David Ferrer News

David Ferrer, who seems to be in the twilight of his career, last finished a season with a minus w/l ratio in 2003 (23/28). He has gone 7/10 so far in 2018, and it will be interesting to see if the Spaniard can go on a good run and improve his tally.
Understandably, Roland Garros is the most successful grand slam for David Ferrer having finished as the runner-up once, reached the semifinal once and quarterfinal on multiple occasions. He has never lost a first-round match here in his previous 16 appearances.
