Novak Djokovic vs Borna Coric Tennis Prediction

Novak Djokovic won their only previous meeting which came on the clay courts of Madrid Masters (R2) in 2016, 6-2 6-4. Unlike Lajovic (Novak’s previous opponent), Coric has made a great start to the season by winning 15 matches (15/6) and making four quarterfinal appearances, and it will be interesting to see if Djokovic can produce yet another dominant performance.
It’s an important match for Djokovic and the pressure is on him as another defeat here will do a lot of damage to his confidence and self-belief.

Novak Djokovic News

Novak Djokovic’s reunion with Marian Vajda has got off to a good start as he produced his best performance since returning from the injury to defeat compatriot Dusan Lajovic in just under an hour, 6-0 6-1.
The last time Djokovic bageled an opponent was Dominic Thiem in the semifinal of Rome Masters 2017 (6-1 6-0), but the Austrian returned the favor in the very next week by bageling the Serbian #1 in the quarterfinal of the French Open (7-6 6-3 6-0).
After the string of poor performances and results, Novak Djokovic has ended his working relationship with Radek Stepanek and Andre Agassi after the Miami Open (they all started working together only a few months back). The former World #1 is now reunited with Marian Vajda, with whom he achieved incredible results on tour over the years.
“It’s a fresh start with Marian Vajda. I missed him. He knows me better than any tennis coach I have worked with. He’s always there for me.”- said Djokovic after winning his first-round match.
In his previous 11 appearances at Monte Carlo, only once Djokovic has lost a second-round match, which was against Jiri Vesely in 2016 (R1 bye).

Borna Coric News

Borna Coric gets back to winning ways with a solid straight-set win over Julien Benneteau in the first round, 6-2 6-3. He lost his previous match to Mikhail Kukushkin in the Davis Cup despite starting as the huge favorite.
The win against Benneteau was the Croatian’s first ever win in Monte Carlo Masters having lost the first round matches in his previous three visits, in 2017 (Jeremy Chardy), 2016 (Philipp Kohlschreiber) and 2015 (Aleksandr Dolgopolov).
Borna Coric has played four second-round matches so far in 2018 and managed to win them all, with the most recent (R2) win coming against Leonardo Mayer in Miami.
