Lucas Pouille vs Kyle Edmund Tennis Prediction

These two players met thrice in 2017 with Lucas Pouille leading the H2H 2-1, but this will be their first meeting on clay. Considering both are equally capable of beating each other, expect this to be an evenly matched and exciting contest.

Lucas Pouille News

Lucas Pouille ended his run of four consecutive opening-round losses with a hard-fought three-set win over Andreas Seppi on Tuesday’s first-round match, 6-2 3-6 7-6.
The Frenchman has entered ten tournaments so far in 2018 (on tour), and he either faced opening round defeat (7) or went all the way to the finals (3). Having crossed the first round hurdle this week, it will be interesting to see if Lucas Pouille can keep that weird run going.
Moreover, the only time Pouille won the first round match here in Rome (two appearances) he managed to reach the semifinal, where he lost to Andy Murray in straight sets (2016).

Kyle Edmund News

Kyle Edmund knocked out the in-form Malek Jaziri in three sets to progress into the second round of Rome Masters for the second consecutive season, 6-3 3-6 6-3.
Making his Rome Masters debut in 2017, the British #1 defeated Joao Sousa in the first round but lost to Juan Martin Del Potro in the second.
World #19 Kyle Edmund, who went ever so close to winning his maiden tour title at Marrakech (F) a few weeks back, posted his career-best result in an ATP Masters 1000 event by progressing to the quarterfinal in Madrid last week.
