Diego Schwartzman vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Tennis Prediction

Diego Schwartzman got the better of Stefanos Tsitsipas on the Greek’s preferred surface when they met in the semifinal of ATP Antwerp (indoor hard) last year. Considering Schwartzman’s recent performances, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if Tsitsipas gets the revenge on the Argentinian’s preferred surface this time around. That said, Diego Schwartzman is easily the better player on clay and will start as the favorite.

Stefanos Tsitsipas News

Making his Barcelona debut, Stefanos Tsitsipas strolled past the fellow 19-year-old Corentin Moutet in straight sets to register his 15th win of the season (15/12).
The Greek teenager’s last seven matches have all finished in straight sets, with him winning five of them. The two defeats came against David Goffin in Monte Carlo and Christian Garin in Le Gosier Challenger.
The former Junior #1 and two-time Orange Bowl finalist, Stefanos Tsitsipas, registered over 50 wins on clay in the past two seasons (30/6 and 25/12), including four titles (1 x Challenger and 3 x ITF).

Diego Schwartzman News

Diego Schwartzman failed to win more than one match in a third consecutive tournament (on tour) when he lost to Richard Gasquet in the second round of Monte Carlo last week. Before being beaten comprehensively by Gasquet (2-6 1-6), he was also bageled by Guido Pella in the first round, 0-6 6-2 6-3.
Schwartzman, who will be making his Barcelona debut this week, has already entered three clay tournaments this season, and won the title at Rio de Janeiro and made the quarterfinal at Buenos Aires.
Winning 18 matches on clay in 2017 (18/12) was his worst tally on this surface since 2008 (2/4). He has won nearly 400 matches (395/186) on clay in his career with all the 18 career titles (at all levels) coming at the clay events.
