Taro Daniel vs Aljaz Bedene Tennis Prediction

These two players met once in the quarterfinal of Rome 2 Challenger in 2015 when Bedene scored a comfortable straight sets win. However, both these players are capable of winning this contest, and it’s a good opportunity for Taro Daniel to level the H2H, considering the circumstances.

Aljaz Bedene News

Aljaz Bedene, who finished as the runner-up at Budapest in 2017, had an excellent chance of winning the Budapest title last week as the defending champion Lucas Pouille and other top seeds made early exits. But the Slovenian could not snatch the win against John Millman in the semifinal despite having numerous chances to do it, 6-2 6-7 6-7.
Bedene will now enter ATP Istanbul for the third consecutive season. After facing a first round exit in 2016 (Karen Khachanov), he won one match and made the round of 16 in 2017 (Milos Raonic). However, he got a first-round bye this week, and one win will send him through to the quarterfinals.
Aljaz Bedene made a poor start to the season by winning just one of his opening four matches (1/3, all on hard) but impressive results on clay have made it one of his best starts to a season. His 2018 w/l record currently stands at 15/8.
Apart from reaching the semifinal at Budapest last week, he also finished as the runner-up at Buenos Aires (clay) and made the quarterfinal at Rio de Janeiro (clay). These results pushed Bedene to achieve his career-high ranking of #43 in February 2018.

Taro Daniel News

Taro Daniel snapped his three-match losing run by passing a difficult first-round test against Matteo Berrettini at ATP Istanbul on Monday, 7-5 6-3.
Earlier in the season, the Japanese was going through a six-match losing run, and he had to wait until the Indian Wells to put an end to it, where he scored one of the biggest wins of his career by upsetting the former World #1 Novak Djokovic in three sets.
Daniel, who has consistently produced impressive results on clay (mostly in the Challenger circuits) over the last seven years so, has just recorded his first win on clay this season (vs. Matteo Berrettini).
