Mischa Zverev vs Federico Delbonis Tennis Prediction

Federico Delbonis won their clay meeting in 2010, but Mischa Zverev got the revenge on the indoor hard courts of Valencia in 2015. Delbonis is by far the better player on clay, and the current form of Zverev further enhances the Argentinian’s chances in this contest.

Mischa Zverev News

Mischa Zverev suffered his 13th defeat of the season when he was handed a straight set drubbing by compatriot Philipp Kohlschreiber in the second round of ATP Munich last week.
After posting excellent results in 2015 (55/24) and 2016 (51/30), and having a decent season in 2017 (32/32), Zverev has endured a tough start to the 2018 season. Apart from receiving a hefty fine from the Australian Open in January 2018, he also went through a five-match losing run.
The German’s wins over Felix Auger Aliassime and Lucas Pouille in the Monte Carlo Masters was the only instance he managed to win back-to-back matches so far in 2018, despite entering 13 tournaments and playing 20 matches (7/13).
After failing in the qualifying stages of 2009 edition, the veteran German returned to Madrid in 2017 to make only his second appearance in this event, but the result did not change as he again failed to register a win (R1).

Federico Delbonis News

Federico Delbonis scored two dominant straight-set wins over Miguel Semmler and Mikhail Youzhny to avoid a second consecutive qualifying exit from the Madrid Masters (lost QR2 in 2015).
The Argentinian snapped his three-match losing run by defeating Albert Ramos Vinolas in Estoril last week but faced a disappointing second-round defeat against Simone Bolelli despite winning the first set, 6-3 5-7 2-6.
Delbonis’ previous two first-round matches here at Madrid have come against the left-handed opponents, defeated Albert Ramos in 2012 and lost to Feliciano Lopez in 2014.
