Roger Federer vs Denis Kudla Tennis Prediction

Roger Federer looked far from his best for the second time in two days, but once again his opponent failed to grab the chances. Matthew Ebden led the second set by a break and later got a chance to serve for the second set before eventually losing out in straight sets, 7-6 7-5.
“I think it’s normal once you get broken on grass that you are ready to go a third because that would be a logical consequence of being broken. But at the same time, you try to show a reaction, try to break back, and I had to and was able to do that today.” – Roger Federer after booking his place in the semifinal.
World #1 Federer is currently on a seven-match winning run which earned him his maiden title at ATP Stuttgart last week. Earlier this season, he went on a 21-match winning run before facing back-to-back defeats against Juan Martin Del Potro and Thanasi Kokkinakis.
Roger Federer, who made his Halle debut in 2000, has lifted this title nine times in the past and has lost only six matches in this tournament (62-6). His record in the semifinal of ATP Halle stands at 11/2, with those two defeats coming against Alexander Zverev in 2016 and Nicolas Kiefer in 2002.
Denis Kudla secured his progression into the semifinal after fighting back from *2-5 down in the second set, 6-2 7-5. The American has now played five matches this week and is yet to drop a set, including his wins over Guido Pella and Nikoloz Basilashvili in the qualifying stages.
Former world #53 Denis Kudla’s only previous semifinal appearance in an ATP World Tour event came at ATP Atlanta in 2015, where he lost to compatriot John Isner in three sets.
Denis Kudla is one of the very few players to have registered over 30 wins in the first six months of the season (35/16), thanks to his fine results in the Challenger circuits, such as winning the title in Drummondville Challenger, finishing as the runner-up at Le Gosier Challenger, a semifinal appearance at Dallas Challenger and a quarterfinal appearance at Surbiton Challenger (grass).
These two players met once in the second round at Indian Wells 2012 when Roger Federer scored a dominant straight-set win (6-4 6-1). Though Federer is not convincing in any of his seven matches in this grass season (7/0), he is still heavily favored to reach the final.

Tennis Prediction: Roger Federer 2-0 SET
