Anna Blinkova knocks out local wildcard #924 Osorio Serrano, 6-2 6-4, to get her first Bogota campaign underway. It was not a smooth sail for Blinkova who was serving at 60% first serve in (7 double faults), hit 30 unforced errors and got broken twice.
The 19-year-old Russian is one win away from making her first WTA quarterfinal, while a semifinal at Bogota will give the teenager her top 100 debut.
Blinkova has gone 22-8 in this season, with a round of 16 at Premier 5 Doha and a $60,000 title at ITF Croissy-Beaubourg, a couple of weeks ago.
