Jared Donaldson vs Denis Shapovalov Tennis Prediction

Jared Donaldson registered his first grass win of the season by securing a hard-fought three-set win over compatriot Taylor Fritz in the first round of ATP Eastbourne on Monday, 6-7 6-3 7-6.
The challenge for Donaldson now is to win back-to-back matches, something he hasn’t done since reaching the third round of the Miami Open in March 2018, where he defeated a left-handed opponent, Feliciano Lopez, in the second round (faces a leftie on Wednesday).
Making his Eastbourne debut in 2017, Jared Donaldson won a three-setter against Diego Schwartzman before losing to Donald Young (left handed) in the round of 16. He will be hoping to go at least one step further this time.
The American youngster made his grass debut in 2013, but only twice in his career, he has managed to win back-to-back matches in a grass tournament, at Wimbledon 2015 and London 2013.
Denis Shapovalov is currently on a three-match losing run, which includes two defeats on grass, against Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Gilles Muller. The teenager is seeded #3 and will make his Eastbourne debut, seeking for his first grass win of the season.
The 19-year-old Denis Shapovalov’s best moment of his career came on grass as he won the Junior Wimbledon singles title in 2016. He then showcased his ability on this surface by winning seven matches in 2017, including a round of 16 appearance at ATP London (as a qualifier).
These two players met recently in the round of 16 at Delray Beach earlier this season when Denis Shapovalov fought back from a set down to win in three sets, 6-7 6-4 6-4. The Canadian is the better player on grass, but his current form gives the American a decent chance to level the H2H.

Tennis Prediction: Denis Shapovalov
