Jiri Vesely vs Lukas Rosol Tennis Prediction

The two Czechs have met four times in the past with Vesely leading the H2H 3-1 (2-1 on clay). While Rosol seems to be improving with every match, Vesely is still struggling to produce his best tennis which gives Rosol a great chance to bridge down the gap in their H2H.

Jiri Vesely News

Despite suffering from constant fitness issues over the last few months, Jiri Vesely posted his second quarterfinal run (on tour) of the season by defeating Daniel Gimeno Traver and Thiago Monteiro in Istanbul a few weeks back. He previously made the quarterfinal at Auckland in the second week of January 2018.
The 24-year-old Czech, who has retired seven times since the start of 2016 season including twice in 2018, stepped down a level and entered the Challenger event at Heilbronn last week to improve his fitness and build some momentum. However, he will neither be happy nor disappointed with the result as he progressed to the final but lost to the 17-year-old German Rudolf Molleker, despite winning the first set.
Two good weeks in consecutive tournaments at Heilbronn (F) and Istanbul (QF) has taken Jiri Vesely’s season tally into the positive territory, 11/10. These are much-needed results for the talented Czech considering he suffered some bad defeats earlier in the season such as 0-6 3-6 against Aljaz Bedene and 0-5 (retired) against Kyle Edmund.

Lukas Rosol News

Lukas Rosol’s fitness is no better as very recently he made his comeback from the four months break. Rosol started off with a quarterfinal run at ITF Spain, then entered five consecutive challenger events and will now play his first main draw match in an ATP World Tour event since Moscow 2017.
To get into the main draw of ATP Geneva, Lukas Rosol defeated Ivan Gakhov in straight sets before fighting back from a set down against Jeremy Jahn in the final qualifying round on Sunday.
Former world #26 Lukas Rosol managed to win at least three matches in his previous two appearances here at Geneva. Making his debut in 2015 as a qualifier, he progressed to the round of 16 (lost to Wawrinka), and in 2016, he defeated the likes of John Isner and Andrey Kuznetsov but was again stopped by Stan Wawrinka in the semifinal.
