Petra Kvitova vs Angelique Kerber Tennis Prediction

Their H2H is tied at 5-5, but they haven’t met since 2016 Wuhan. Kvitova and Kerber met once in the Fed Cup, way back in November of 2014, when Kvitova defeated Kerber in three-sets to lift the championship.

Petra Kvitova News

Petra Kvitova trampled on Julia Goerges 6-3 6-2 to get one step closer to securing Czech Republic’s eighth win over Germany. Moreover, the former Wimbledon champion is also one win away from her 30th Fed Cup singles win (currently at 29/10).
The Czech #2 was winning 84% of points behind her first serve, but the key to the smooth victory against Goerges was going aggressive on the German’s second serves, winning 78% of those.
Kvitova, until a month ago, was on a 14-match winning streak (equaling with the streak of 2010-2011), which covered two WTA titles (St. Petersburg and Doha) as well as two Fed Cup rubbers against Switzerland’s Golubic and Bencic in February.

Angelique Kerber News

Angelique Kerber, playing her first clay match of the season, could not provide answers to Karolina Pliskova (whom she defeated at the 2016 US Open final) in the second rubber and, as a result, Germany fell behind in the tie by 0-2.
Kerber was toe-to-toe in the winners tally (15 to 17) and even committed much less unforced errors (14 to 28) than the Czech #1, but Pliskova’s excellent service did not allow Kerber to have a look at even one break point.
The two-time Porsche Grand Prix champion (2015-16, played at this venue) remains a formidable force to be reckoned with. Kerber has won a title in 2018 (Sydney) and is the season’s match-win leader as well (with 21 wins).

Tennis Prediction: Angelique Kerber to win
