Ricardo Ojeda Lara vs Federico Silva Tennis Prediction

These two players met twice in the ITF circuits in 2013 and 2014 with their H2H tied at 1-1 (Ojeda Lara 1-0 on clay). Both these players are equally capable of winning this match, but playing at home conditions make Silva the slight favorite in this encounter.

Federico Silva News

Federico Silva made huge strides in 2015 by winning 63 matches (63/32) and three ITF titles. He then backed it up by winning 42 and 48 matches in the following seasons. Overall, Silva has won 12 ITF titles so far in his young career.
Though he impressed in 2017 (48/21 and two titles), his performance took a hit due to the fitness issues he suffered in the second half of 2017. He was even forced to retire twice between July and September.
The 23-year-old Portuguese has already played 26 matches this season (all in ITF) and managed to win 23 of them, which includes three ITF titles at Portugal. These are impressive results considering he still doesn’t seem to be in his best condition yet and he can only get better from here.
After failing to win a match in his first eight tour-level events, Silva finally snatched a win against Denis Istomin here at Estoril in 2017 (6-2 6-2). It was also his only win in this event from his previous three appearances.

Ricardo Ojeda Lara News

Ricardo Ojeda Lara is another player who has been extremely consistent and prolific in the ITF Pro Circuits (and Challengers to an extent) over the last five years or so. Notably, he won 83 matches in 2016, which includes six ITF titles.
The Spaniard had to defeat two difficult opponents, Alexander Bublik and Joao Monteiro, in the qualifying stages to book his main draw berth at Estoril on his debut appearance.
Ricardo Ojeda Lara made his tour-level debut at ATP Pune in the first week of January 2018. Entering as a qualifier, he scored few upset wins and made his way to the quarterfinal.
