The second seed, Magdalena Rybarikova secured her first win since February (Doha) by breezing past Risa Ozaki in two straightforward sets, 6-4 6-3. The match was concluded in 90 minutes with the Japanese’s serve getting broken five times.
Since the fourth round run at the Australian Open, Rybarikova is yet to win back-to-back matches. It was her second-best slam run since the semifinal at last year’s Wimbledon (lost to Muguruza, 6-1 6-1, who is the top seed at Monterrey).
Rybarikova, at the age of 29 years and six months, is the oldest player in the draw. She is also a two-time quarterfinalist of the tournament, 2015 and 2014, losing those matches to Garcia (retirement due to ankle) and Ivanovic.

Jana Fett Prediction

Jana Fett, the sole Croatian in the draw, thrashed Greece’s Valentini Grammatikopoulou, 6-0 6-2, in just 59 minutes to secure her second main draw win of the season.
It was her first main draw win since losing to Caroline Wozniacki in the third round of the Australian Open, where she had multiple match points and led the decider by a double break.
Last year, the 21-year-old reached the semifinals of two WTA International tournaments, Hobart and Tokyo, in both as a qualifier. And as a result, she broke into the top 100 and finished the year at #98 (career-best season).
