The coronavirus pandemic has prompted WTA and ATP to extend the suspension period, and now tennis could resume only on June 7, after the announcement was initially made for May.

Thus, the ATP and WTA tournaments in Madrid and Rome were canceled, as were the women’s tournaments in Strasbourg and Rabat, plus the men’s in Munich, Estoril, Geneva and Lyon.

The Grand Slam at Roland Garros would be contested between September 20 and October 4.

After the end of the global crisis, ATP and WTA will take a number of common measures to prevent summer coronavirus infection.

🎾What are the 6 measures?

🔺Players and players will no longer hold pets or children on hand when entering the field.
🔺Ball children will wear gloves on the field.
🔺The children of balls will no longer hold nor hand the towels of the players.
🔺Ball children will no longer give drinks to players and players during breaks.
🔺Athletes will be instructed not to throw in the stands the used towels, belts, t-shirts or other personal items worn during matches or training.
🔺Athletes will no longer be able to accept pens, tennis balls or other objects on which to give autographs.
