Simona Halep (28 years old, 2 WTA) was invited to a video discussion with Mats Wilander, in the podcast “Tennis Legends”, hosted by the former great tennis player, along with Boris Becker and Tommy Haas.

Our player spoke to former tennis players about the situation in Romania, about the coronavirus pandemic and how he thinks things will evolve in the coming period.

“In Romania it is quite bad now. Everything is closed. We have many cases, but not many deaths. But it will be even worse because we have many people who will come from Italy and are infected. It will be difficult for hospitals to handle the situation.

I was in self-isolation for a week when it was announced that everything would be closed. I was scared of the virus and everything I heard from China and other countries. It’s not easy. It’s hard for everyone because we can’t go out, but we have to accept and stay positive.

It’s a worldwide problem. It’s better that everything was canceled. It’s a huge problem! We must listen to what we are told. We have to stay home safely. Tennis is not everything in my life. I prefer to stay in the house and wait for the time when everything will be safe to travel. If I am not 100% safe, I will not leave home, ”said Simona Halep

“The blackest scenario? The whole year will be canceled. I think this situation, with canceled tournaments, will last longer than July ”
