Steve Johnson vs Marton Fucsovics Tennis Prediction

In this pair’s first-ever meeting, Steve Johnson will start as the favorite considering he is far more consistent with his performance than Marton Fucsovics. That said, both these players probably won’t be getting too many better opportunities to make a rare finals appearance at this level.

Marton Fucsovics News

Marton Fucsovics went down a break early in his quarterfinal match, but once Stan Wawrinka struggled to maintain his level (fitness issues), the Hungarian started to dominate the match and scored a comprehensive straight sets win, including a second set bagel, 6-4 6-0.
The former Junior Wimbledon champion and 26-year-old Marton Fucsovics is through to his first ever semifinals in an ATP World Tour event. He went so close to doing it here at Switzerland last season but was stopped in three sets by Marin Cilic in the quarterfinal of ATP Basel (2017).
Earlier this season, Marton Fuscovics posted his career-best grand slam result by reaching the round of 16 at the Australian Open. This is easily the best season of his career, and it will be interesting to see how many more milestones he would be able to cross in the remaining six months.
Fucsovics made three semifinals in the Challenger circuits earlier this season but lost the recent two, against Nicola Kuhn in Budapest (home event) and Matteo Berrettini in Irving Challenger.

Steve Johnson News

Steve Johnson got a pretty comfortable draw so far this week in Geneva, and he did his part of the job by defeating Marius Copil, Lukas Rosol, and Guido Pella to move into the semifinal of ATP Geneva for the first time in his career, in three attempts.
Making his debut in 2016, he lost his round of 16 match to Andrey Kuznetsov, and in 2017, he went one step further but lost to Mischa Zverev in the quarterfinal. He has already progressed one step further this week and will be hoping to keep the run going.
This is Steve Johnson’s third semifinal appearance of the season on tour and second on clay. After losing to Peter Gojowczyk in the semifinal of Delray Beach, he defeated Taylor Fritz in the semifinal of Houston and went on to defend his title.
