Rogerio Dutra Silva vs Novak Djokovic Tennis Prediction

These two players met once in the second round of US Open 2012 when Novak Djokovic, who was in his peak at that time, registered a thumping straight set win. On clay and current form, Dutra Silva can put in a better performance but can’t see him reversing the final score.

Novak Djokovic News

The 12-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic had to wait until the French Open 2016 to complete his career grand slam as Rafael Nadal did not give anyone a chance to have a sniff at this title. In 2016, Rafael Nadal was forced to retire from his third round match against Marcel Granollers Pujol, and Novak Djokovic did the rest, by defeating the likes of Tomas Berdych, Dominic Thiem and Andy Murray (F).
This is the former world #1 Djokovic’s 14th consecutive appearance in Paris, and he has never lost a first-round match here. The Serbian’s worst result in the French Open was losing his second round match on his debut appearance in 2005 (vs. Guillermo Coria).
Novak Djokovic lost his recent match to Rafael Nadal in the semifinal of Rome Masters two weeks back, but without a doubt, that was his best performance of the season, 6-7 3-6. The kind of tennis on display ( especially in the first set) was what the tour has been missing over the past one year or so.

Rogerio Dutra Silva News

Rogerio Dutra Silva scored three impressive straight set wins (including two bagels) over Christian Garin, Andrej Martin, and Zdenek Kolar in the qualifying stages to progress into the main draw of French Open.
The Brazilian will now make his fifth main draw appearance at the Roland Garros, and only once he has managed to progress beyond the first round, by defeating Mikhail Youzhny in 2017.
Dutra Silva has been quite unlucky in the Grand Slams this year as he was drawn against the crowd favorite Nick Kyrgios in the first round of Australian Open (lost in straight sets) and will now face a former champion in Paris.
