Andreas Seppi vs Laslo Djere Tennis Prediction

This will be the first-ever meeting between these two players. Two long weeks at Monte Carlo and Budapest, coupled with the first round bye he got this week could probably work against Andreas Seppi in this second round contest. Moreover, the Italian needs a rest to be in his best condition for the upcoming Madrid Masters (could play the qualifiers this weekend).

Andreas Seppi News

Andreas Seppi continued his excellent start to the season by progressing to the semifinal of Budapest last week. Doing so, he registered his 21st win of the season from 31 outings which is quite impressive considering he could only win 28 matches in the entire 2017 season (28/29).
Though he made the semifinal at Budapest, the Italian will probably see it as a missed chance considering it was a great opportunity for all four semifinalists to win a rare tour title as the draw got a bit weak after the early exits of top four seeds.
Moreover, Andreas Seppi was leading by a set and break against compatriot and the eventual champion Marco Cecchinato in the semifinal, but he could not hold on to it, 7-5 6-7 3-6.
Nevertheless, it’s been an excellent start to the season for Seppi who won the title at Canberra Challenger, made the semifinal at Rotterdam and Budapest, and round of 16 at the Australian Open and Monte Carlo.

Laslo Djere News

Laslo Djere must be mightily relieved after ending his ten-match losing run with a straight-sets win over Denis Istomin on Tuesday, thanks to his opponent’s recent fitness struggles, 7-6 7-6.
Djere, who was forced to retire from his previous match at Alicante Challenger (QR1), last won a match in the first round of ATP Pune (vs. Marius Copil) in the first week of January. Since then, the Serb endured a tough time on tour and in the Davis Cup as well (lost to Sam Querrey).
While Seppi is making his Istanbul debut this week, Laslo Djere defeated an Italian opponent in the second round (Paolo Lorenzi) and progressed to the quarterfinal here in 2017.
